The Fabian Movement and its Impacts on Shaping of the German Social Democracy at the Turn of the 19th and the 20th Century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce analyzuje jeden z aspektů socialistické ideologie. Zabývá se marxistickým revisionismem. První část práce pojednává o britském Fabiánském hnutí usilujícího o pokojnou a demokratickou cestu k socialistické společnosti. V této části práce je analyzován rozdíl fabiánského socialismu od marxistické ideologie, historické vlivy a politologická charakteristika. Práce se věnuje i náčrtu společenských změn v pozdně viktoriánském a edwardiánském období, především sociálním reformám v tomto období. Třetí část diplomové práce se zaměřuje na dělnické hnutí a sociální otázku v německém prostředí. Jednotlivé kapitoly této části práce popisují i dva hlavní německé představitele marxistického revisionismu Lassalla a Bernsteina. Důraz je zde kladen hlavně na jejich revizi marxistického myšlení. Poslední část práce je věnována komparaci a krátkému hodnocení.

Abstract:

This thesis analyses specific aspect of socialist ideology, it deals with the revisionist marxism movements. The first part of the thesis deals with British Fabian movement, which strived for peaceful and democratic way to socialistic society. There is an analyse of difference between so called Fabian socialism and Marxist ideology, historical factors and characteristic of political science in this part. There is also an outline of social changes primarily social reforms in late Victorian and Edwardian period in this part. The third part of diploma thesis is focused on labour movement and social question in Germany environment. Particular chapters also describe two main German representatives of Marxist revisionism Lassall and Bernstein. The thesis lays emphasis primarily on their revision of Marxist way of thinking. The last chapter is focused on comparison and short evaluation.
