Social Support as a Protective Factor in the Onset of Burnout Syndrome

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou sociální opory jako protektivního faktoru vzniku syndromu vyhoření. Práci tvoří dva celky - teoretická a praktická část. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vymezení pojmu sociální opora, teorie, z nichž pojem vzešel, popis jednotlivých úrovní a forem sociální opory. Zaměřuje se na její zdroje, popisuje protektivní účinek sociální opory a též nastiňuje sociální potřeby, jež se naplňují pomocí sociální opory. Práce dále charakterizuje syndrom vyhoření jako jev, příčiny jeho vzniku, vymezuje rizikové faktory vzniku, jednotlivé fáze vyhoření a popisuje příznaky syndromu vyhoření, dle jejich úrovní. Zabývá se také zvládáním zátěžových situací spojených se syndromem vyhoření a sociální oporou jako jednou z možností úspěšného copingu. Poslední část teorie se zabývá vymezením paliativní a hospicové péče, předkládá základní principy a formy paliativní medicíny, nastiňuje její sociálně-pedagogický kontext a souvislost se syndromem vyhoření. Praktická část je realizována formou kvalitativního výzkumu prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza vlivu sociální opory jako protektivního faktoru vzniku syndromu vyhoření pohledem pracovnic paliativní péče v hospicových zařízeních.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of social support as a protective factor in the development of burnout syndrome. The thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the concept of social support, the theories from which the concept originated, describes the different levels and forms of social support, focuses on its sources, describes the protective effect of social support and also outlines the social needs that are fulfilled through social support. The thesis further characterizes burnout syndrome as a phenomenon, causes of its occurrence, defines risk factors of its occurrence, individual stages of burnout and describes symptoms of burnout syndrome, according to their levels. It also deals with coping with stressful situations associated with burnout syndrome and social support as one of the options for successful coping. The last part of the theory deals with the definition of palliative and hospice care, presents the basic principles and forms of palliative medicine, outlines its socio-pedagogical context and the connection with burnout syndrome. The practical part is conducted in the form of qualitative research through semi structured interviews. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the influence of social support as a protective factor in the development of burnout syndrome through the perspective of palliative care workers in hospice facilities.
