Polish-Czech relations in the context of the events of 1919

Abstract:

The BA thesis is divided into four main chapters including an introduction and a conclusion. The introduction of the Bachelor's thesis should outline the topic and issues of the Polish-Czechoslovak dispute. The first chapter presents the situation in Central Europe in the period after the end of the First World War and the outbreak of the Czechoslovak-Polish dispute over Těšín Silesia, but also compares the situation of the two nation states at the time of their creation. The second chapter deals with the older historical development of Těšín Silesia (from the establishment of the early medieval states - Czech and Polish - to the end of the First World War) should provide an overview of its rather complex history and, in particular, capture the causes of the Czech-Polish dispute. The third chapter will deal directly with the Czech-Polish conflict over Těšín Silesia and its resolution, i.e. the situation just before the Seven-Day War, the course of the armed conflict, the subsequent settlement by the agreed powers, the circumstances surrounding the proposed plebiscite and the arbitral decision to divide Těšín Silesia, and its actual consequences. The dissertation concludes with conclusions of the obtained results of the analyses in the previous chapters and an attempt to answer the questions posed in the introduction.

Praca licencjacka dzieli się na cztery główne rozdziały tym wstęp i wnioski. We wstępie pracy licencjackiej należy nakreślono temat i problematykę sporu polsko-czechosłowackiego. W rozdziale pierwszym przedstawiono sytuację w Europie Środkowej w okresie po zakończeniu I wojny światowej i wybuchu sporu czechosłowacko-polskiego o Śląsk Cieszyński, ale także porównana zostanie sytuacja obu państw narodowych w momencie ich powstania. Drugi rozdział dotyczy starszego rozwoju historycznego Śląska Cieszyńskiego (od powstania wczesnośredniowiecznych państw -czesch i polski- do końca pierwszej wojny światowej) powinien dać przegląd jego dość złożonej historii, a zwłaszcza uchwycić przyczyny sporu czesko-polskiego. Rozdział trzeci dotyczyć będzie bezpośrednio konfliktu czesko-polskiego o Śląsk Cieszyński i jego rozwiązaniu, czyli sytuacji tuż przed wojną siedmiodniową, przebiegiem konfliktu zbrojnego, późniejszemu rozstrzygnięciu przez uzgodnione mocarstwa, okolicznościom związanym z proponowanym plebiscytem i arbitrażową decyzją o podziale Śląska Cieszyńskiego, a także jej faktyczne konsekwencje. Rozprawę zamykają wnioski uzyskanych wyników analiz w poprzednich rozdziałach oraz próba odpowiedzi na pytania postawione we wstępie.
