Employment Policy and Its Impact on Employees Motivation in Sri Lanka

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on employee’s motivation.Its origins and influence on a company’s performance.Due to my future professional goals in life and nowadays rhythm of life in the business world it is important to understand better the psychological environment of the companies.Every manager differs in the way he / she manages.The key to motivating employees, satisfying customers and managing them in ways that lead to profits, productivity, innovation, and organizational effectiveness is to understand how to motivate them.The globalization of businesses and the advancement of information technologies have brought changes that are reshaping the world of work.They change the way business is done, the way employees behave and the way managers manage their employees.Motivating and to retaining employees and customers have become an important and complex task of the managers. The key to performing this task well is to find out more about the factors that motivate employees and its impact on customer’s retention.The study aims to establish the relationship between management and motivation of employees and its impact on customer’s retention.To have a sound human resource management strategy that attracts retains and motivates the valuable employees and customers, it is important that the managers find out what the employees are looking for from their job.The company should constantly assess the employees’ motivation levels and also what they need, want or expect from their workThis study used a questionnaire comprising motivation questions in order to test the motivational level of the employees at People’s Bank and the satisfaction level of their customers.After being validated by appropriate statistical methods, the results show there is a relationship between management and employee motivation which encourage employee to get customer’s retention.
