Selected Czech mining museums compared from the perspective of their presentation to the public

Abstract:

V diplomové práci nazvané "Srovnání vybraných českých hornických muzeí z hlediska jejich prezentace na veřejnosti" je věnována pozornost Landek Parku a Hornickému muzeu Příbram, největším hornickým muzeím v České republice. Nejprve je nastíněna historie obou muzeí a základní teoretické pojmy z oblasti marketingu. Praktická část se věnuje různým aspektům prezentace hornických muzeí od propagačních materiálů a prezentace prostřednictvím internetu až po služby poskytované návštěvníkům v prostředí muzea a hodnocení hornických expozic. Dále se práce zaměřuje na návštěvnost a tržby ze vstupného. V poslední části jsou zjištěné informace rozděleny na silné a slabé stránky, které následuje návrh na změny a zlepšení. Úkolem práce je vyzdvihnout jedinečnosti a upozornit na nedostatky obou hornických muzeí pomocí jejich srovnání. Cílem je podnítit obě instituce k odstranění zjištěných nedostatků v jejich prezentaci na veřejnosti a vzájemně je inspirovat.

Abstract:

The theses "Selected Czech mining museums compared from the perspective of their presentation to the public" focuses on the Landek Park and the Mining museum Pribram, the two largest mining museums in the Czech Republic. At first the thesis outlines history of both museums and basic theoretical marketing concepts. The practical part then concentrates on various aspects of presentation of the mining museums, from promotional materials and internet presentations to visitor services in the museum environment and evaluation of the mining expositions. The work also focuses on attendance of the museums and admission sale. In the last part of the thesis, the obtained information is divided into strengths and weaknesses, followed by suggested changes and improvements. The task of the work is to highlight the uniqueness and point out the shortcomings of both the mining museums using the comparison of both. The aim is to encourage both institutions to eliminate the identified gaps in their public presentation and to inspire each other.
