The Specifics of Communication during the Adolescent Time

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je prozkoumat vrstevnický vliv na vztah ke kouření cigaret u mladších adolescentů v prostředí školní třídy. Výzkum srovnával mladší adolescenty - žáky sedmých a osmých tříd základní školy se studenty sekund a tercií na gymnáziu (N=136). Data byla sesbírána pomocí dotazníku složeného ze tří částí. První část se zabývala sociální akceptací, druhá část vrstevnickým vlivem a třetí část postojem mladších adolescentů ke kouření cigaret. V rámci tří výzkumných otázek bylo stanoveno celkem 12 hypotéz. Zkušenosti s kouřením cigaret i podíl nekuřáků byl zjišťován pomocí Chí-kvadrátu, rozdílná sociální akceptace v souvislosti s kouřením cigaret pomocí jednofaktorové analýzy rozptylu (ANOVA), vrstevnický vliv pomocí dvouvýběrového t-testu a vztahy mezi proměnnými pomocí bivariační korelace. Výsledky ukázaly některé signifikantní rozdíly mezi žáky obou typů škol, především ve zkušenostech s kouřením, podílu nekuřáků a percepci vrstevnického vlivu. Výsledky jsou diskutovány.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to explore the peer influence on relationship to cigarette smoking by early adolescents in class. The research compared early adolescents – pupils of seventh and eighth classes of basic school and the same old students from grammar school (N=136). Data were gathered through the use of a questionnaire composed from three parts. The first part dealt with a social acceptance, the second with peer influence and the third with attitude towards cigarette smoking by early adolescents. There were specified 12 hypotheses in terms of three research questions. The experience with cigarette smoking and the share of nonsmokers were explored by Chi-square test, the different social acceptance attendant on cigarette smoking by one-way Analysis of variance (ANOVA), the peer influence by two-sample t-test a relationships between variables by bivariate correlation. The results shown significant differences between students of both schools, especially in smoking experience, share of nonsmokers and peer influence perception. The results are discussed.
