Saúdská Arábie, pro kterou hadždž představuje bod prestiže a zároveň i slabé a citlivé místo, si ho úzkostlivě chrání, neboť na svatých místech saúdská královská rodina staví svůj královský titul. Také proto je hadždž dobrým ukazatelem vztahů mezi Saúdskou Arábií a Íránem. Hadždž má krvavou historii. Hajj is the largest event of the Muslim world. This is very sensitive issue for Saudi Arabia because the royal family is the guardian of two holy places Mecca and Medina.
