Techniques of social work with people with Alzheimer's disease in homes for the elderly

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na aktivizační techniky sociální práce s lidmi s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Cílem této práce je zmapovat a popsat nejvyužívanější aktivizační techniky při práci s lidmi trpících Alzheimerovou chorobou, dále také navrhnout možná řešení pro jejich zlepšení. Dalším cílem této práce je zjistit, zda se tyto techniky liší ve vybraném domově pro seniory a specializovaném centru pro lidi, kteří touto chorobou trpí. Vzhledem k těmto cílům práce vymezuje teoretická východiska jako stáří, stařecká demence, Alzheimerova choroba a aktivizační techniky. V rámci této práce byl realizován vlastní výzkum v domově pro seniory a specializovaném centru za pomoc smíšeného modelu kvantitativní a kvalitního výzkumu. Bylo použito dotazníkového šetření, z něhož vyplývá, jaké techniky respondenti užívají nejvíce a jaké nejméně. Z výsledků tohoto výzkumu dále vyplývá, které techniky jsou dle respondentů nejúčinnější při práci s lidmi s Alzheimerovou chorobou. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumu byl veden polosktukturovaný rozhovor a zúčastněné pozorování, na základě kterého je navrženo možné zlepšení práce s lidmi s Alzheimerovou chorobou v uvedeném zařízení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on activation techniques of social work with people with Alzheimer's disease. The aim of this work is not only to map and describe the most used activation techniques of work with people who have Alzheimer's disease but also to suggest possible solutions for their improvement. Another aim of this work is to find out if these techniques are different in selected home for the elderly and specialized center for the people who havethis disease. In view of these objectives, this work defines the theoretical basis as old age, old age dementia, Alzheimer's disease and activation techniques. In the framework of this work, my own research was carried out in home for the elderly and specialized center with the help of a a mixed model of quantitative and quality research. A questionnaire survey was used to show which techniques respondents use the most and the least. The results of this research also show which techniques are most effective in responding to people with Alzheimer's disease. As part of the qualitative research, a semi-structured interview and participant observation were conducted, on the basis of which it is suggested to improve the work with people with Alzheimer's disease in the mentioned facility.
