Předkládaná práce pojednává o vnitřní struktuře města Zlína a jejím vývoji od roku 2001 do roku 2011 za uplatnění vícerozměrných statistických metod, konkrétně faktorové a shlukové analýzy. První část práce tvoří rešerše k tématu vnitřní struktury města s důrazem na její vícerozměrnou složku, následuje popis vývoje funkcí města a poté jeho komparace s vybranými městy srovnatelné velikosti.
