Obezita je definována jako nadměrné nebo neobvyklé zmnožení tukové tkáně, která souvisí s dalšími metabolickými poruchami. Jedná se o běžné multifaktoriální onemocnění, které je způsobené interakcí mezi environmentálními a genetickými faktory.
