A Successful Formula for Two Generations. A Comparative Study of Naiv.Super., Doppler and Volvo Lastvagnar by Erlend Loe.

Abstract:

The thesis called "A successful formula for two generations" is a comparative study of two narratives by the contemporary Norwegian author Erlend Loe. The main objective of this thesis is to examine to which extent the narratives resemble each other and, if possible, to find and describe the pattern or the basis which the narratives are built upon. A very important part of the thesis is also to interpret the causes, the process and the solution strategies of the existential crises both protagonists experience. Again, this is done with the emphasis on tracing the mutual resemblance of the narratives.

Abstract:

Práce nazvaná „Úspěšný recept pro dvě generace" je komparativní studií dvou příběhů současného norského autora Erlenda Loe. Cílem této práce je prozkoumat míru podobnosti obou příběhů, popř. najít a popsat vzorec, či společný základ, na kterém jsou oba příběhy vybudovány. Velmi důležitou součástí práce je také interpretace příčin, průběhů a strategií řešení životních krizí u obou protagonistů, opět s důrazem na sledování vzájemné podobnosti.
