Audit of the Financial Statements and Proposal to Improve Control Processes in the Contributory Organisation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá ověřením účetní závěrky příspěvkové organizace a návrhem na zlepšení kontrolních procesů uvnitř organizace. Práce je zpracovávána v příspěvkové organizaci, která je střední školou a nachází se ve Zlínském kraji. Teoretická část obsahuje literární rešerši zaměřenou na danou problematiku, která se týká zejména příspěvkových organizací a provedení auditu u neziskových organizací se zaměřením na ověření účetní závěrky. V praktické části je provedena analýza vnitřního prostředí organizace a následně analýza vybraných účetních položek účetní závěrky. Audit neboli ověření účetní závěrky je provedeno na základě testů spolehlivosti, testů věcné správnosti a detailních testů. Na základě zjištěných poznatků z analýz a výsledků auditu je stanoven metodický postup pro kontrolní procesy při ověření účetní závěrky příspěvkové organizace. Pro minimalizaci chyb a zajištění správnosti vyhotovení účetní závěrky je v praktické části na základě zjištěných nedostatků vytvořená pro příspěvkovou organizaci taky navíc nová účetní osnova, která je přizpůsobená pro chod vybrané organizaci.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with verifications of financial statements and proposal for improvement of control processes in a nonprofit organization. The thesis is prepared in a contributory organization, which is a high school located in the Zlín region. The theoretical part includes a literature search focused on the issue, which concerns mainly contributory organizations and the audit of non-profit organizations with a focus on the verification of financial statements. The practical part analyses the internal environment of the organization and then analyses selected accounting items in the financial statements. The audit of verification of the financial statements is carried out on the basis of reliability tests, substantive tests and detailed tests. On the basis of the findings of the analyses and the results of the audit is created a methodological procedur efor the control processes in the verification of the financial statements of the contributory organization. In order to minimise errors and to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements is also created a new chart of accounts which is basis of the identified weaknesses and is adapted for the chosen organization.
