Information design in the presentation of the outcomes of the cultural statistics of the Czech Republic.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá použitím grafického designu pro prezentaci kulturních statistik. Cílem práce je navrhnout použití grafického designu (designu dat) v prezentaci výstupů kulturní statistiky ČR. První část práce je věnovaná definici používaných termínů, především pak vymezení kategorie informačního designu, jeho historickému vývoji, společenskému a psychologickému opodstatnění. Ve druhé části práce je nejprve zhodnocen současný stav prezentace výstupů kulturní statistiky a dále navrženo zpracování těchto výstupů s použitím grafického designu (designu dat).

Abstract:

The Master's Thesis deals with the possibility of using graphic design (data visualisation) in the presentation of outcomes of the cultural statistics. The aim of the paper is to propose a new form of the presentation of the data o help better understanding. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the definition of the terms used further in the document, particularly the definition of the categories of information design, its historical development, and its social and psychological justification. In the second part my work firstly the current form of the outcomes is assessed and then the new form based on data visualisation is suggested.
