Airline Alliance: challenges for the development of global airline alliances in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract:

Daná bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na studium problematických aspektů globálních aliancí leteckých společností v kontextu pandemie COVID-19. Cílem této práce je porozumět fungování leteckých společností a důvodům, proč existují v aliancích. V teoretické části práce se podrobně analyzuje každá z leteckých aliancí a porovnávají se jejich ekonomické, legislativní, sociální a technologické dopady. Dále se zkoumají důvody vzniku aliancí a faktory, které přispívají k jejich růstu. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na analýzu dat o dopadu pandemie na jednotlivé letecké společnosti v rámci každé z aliancí. V závěru práce je popsáno, jak s příchodem pandemie došlo k zásadním změnám v oblasti využívání moderních technologií leteckými společnostmi, zejména v nasazení nových digitálních nástrojů na letištích, které umožňují efektivnější a bezkontaktní procesy pro cestující i personál.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the study of the problematic aspects of global airline alliances in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this thesis is to understand how airlines operate and why they exist in alliances. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses each of the airline alliances in detail and compares their economic, legislative, social and technological impacts. Furthermore, the reasons for the formation of alliances and the factors that contribute to their growth are examined. The practical part of the thesis focuses on analysing data on the impact of the pandemic on individual airlines within each of the alliances. The thesis concludes by describing how the advent of the pandemic has led to fundamental changes in the use of modern technology by airlines, particularly in the deployment of new digital tools at airports that enable more efficient and contactless processes for passengers and staff.
