Comparison of behavioral profiles of psychostimulants and therapeutically used cognitives in animal models

Abstract:

Užívání psychostimulancií je celosvětový fenomén a počet jejich uživatelů narůstá. Objevují se také zprávy o potenciaci jejich účinků současným podáváním nootropik. Cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat efekty metamfetaminu, extáze (MDMA), piracetamu a modafinilu na chování s využitím myších modelů. Vliv látek na afektivitu byl demonstrován v modelu agonistických interakcí. Byla testována přítomnost indukce senzitizace chronickým podáváním modafinilu. Možnost farmakologické interakce mezi piracetamem a metamfetaminem nebo MDMA byla také analyzována.

Abstract:

Use of psychostimulants is a world-wide phenomenon and a number of their consumers is rising. There are also reports of potentiation of their effects by co-administration of nootropics. The aim of the study was to elucidate effects of methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), piracetam and modafinil on behaviour in mouse models. Influence of the drugs on affectivity was demonstrated in agonistic interactions model. Induction of behavioural sensitization by chronic administration of modafnil was also tested. Possible pharmacologic interaction between piracetam and methamphetamine or MDMA was also analysed.
