Aristotle's conception of polis, villages and households

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje řecké společnosti, polis, obci a domácnosti z pohledu jednoho z nejvýznamějších antických filosofů - Aristotela. První část je zaměřena na filosofické metody, podle nichž Aristoteles postupoval při analýze uspořádání polis a ideálního státu. Další pasáž charakterizuje jednotlivé složky domácnosti a jejich vzájemné vztahy. Závěr je věnován majetku a vlastnictví, které je podle Aristotela nutnou podmínkou k aktivní účasti na politickém životě.

Abstract:

The aim of my work is to follow up the nature of Greek society, polis, villages and households from the point of view of one of the most important classical philosophers - Aristotle. The first part focuses on the philosophical methods used by Aristotle to analyze structure of polis and ideal state. Next passage describes indiviual components of households and their mutual relations. The conclusion is devoted to property, which is according to Aristotle, the essential condition for active participation in political life.
