The Lisbon Treaty. Ratification by the EU Member States with Respect to the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je Lisabonská smlouva. Ratifikace členskými státy EU, se zaměřením na ČR. Cílem je popsat změny ve vybraných oblastech fungování EU, přiblížit průběh ratifikace v jednotlivých členských státech se zvláštním důrazem na průběh ratifikace v ČR. Nejprve se budu zabývat vznikem Evropské unie a systémem fungování před ratifikací Lisabonské smlouvy. Ve druhé části se zaměřím na některé významné změny, které Lisabonská smlouva přinesla, zde využiji znění zakládacích smluv: Smlouvy o fungování Evropské unie a Smlouvy o Evropské unii. Ve třetí části přiblížím průběh ratifikace smlouvy v některých členských státech, ve čtvrté průběh ratifikace v České republice. Poslední část je věnována vyhodnocení změn, které přinesla Lisabonská smlouva a možnému dalšímu směřování EU.

Abstract:

The main theme of my thesis is the Treaty of Lisabon. Its ratification by European union member states, with focusing on the Czech Republic. The aim of my work is to define the changes in selected scopes of the EU, approach the ratification process with individual emphasis on the ratification process in the Czech republic. Firstly I am going to deal with the creation of EU and system of functioning before the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. In the second part I will focus on some significant changes which were brought by the Treaty of Lisabon. Here I will use the version of founding treaties : Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and The Treaty on European Union. In the third part I will approach the ratification process in selected member states, in the fourth part ratification process in the Czech Republic. The last part is devoted to evaluate the changes brought about by the Lisbon Treaty and possible further direction of the EU.
