Cost benefit analysis of a selected transport infrastracture investment

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Cost benefit analýza vybraného dopravního investičního projektu“ je analýza poptávky plánovaného modernizačního projektu na železniční trase Brno-Zastávka u Brna. První kapitola obsahuje literární rešerši dosud provedených výzkumů a studií. Následuje stručné představení současné situace na vybrané trase a stanovení výzkumných otázek. Dále popisuji sestavení dotazníku pro šetření, které jsem na trase provedla, analyzuji posbíraná SP data a uvádím základní popisné statistiky. Pokračuji konstrukcí binárního logitu, odhadem užitku respondentů z výběru dostupných dopravních módů na dané trase a pravděpodobností těchto výběrů. Závěrečné podkapitoly se věnují konstrukci hodnoty VOT (value of time), pomocí kterého oceňuji potenciální přínosy modernizačního projektu.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Cost benefit analysis of a selected trasport infrastructure investment” is to focus on analysis of demand for the planned modernization project on the railway Brno-Zastávka u Brna. First chapter includes a literature review associated with this topic. The next part contains a brief introduction of selected route problematics and setting the research questions. After that I describe design of the questionnaire used in my survey, analyze collected SP data and mention descriptive statistics. Afterwards, there comes a construction of a binary logit, estimation of respondent’s utility associated with a choice of traffic modes available on the route and also probabilities of these choices. In final subheads I construct VOT (value of time), by which I evaluate potential benefits of the modernization project.
