Abstract:

Tématem mé diplomové práce byla Autorská kniha, jejímž nosným prvkem je písmo Quin. Postupně jsem prošla procesem návrhu autorského písma, jeho digitalizace a následné aplikace. Všestrannost písma Quin demonstruji v edici tří písmových vzorníků. Mým cílem bylo nejen vytvořit funkční písmo, ale také poukázat na důležitost jeho dobré prezentace. V diplomové práci představuji rozsah mých znalostí a dovedností v oblasti grafického designu a typografie, které jsem nabyla v rámci mého studia na Fakultě designu a umění Ladislava Sutnara na Západočeské univerzitě v ateliéru Grafického designu a vizuální komunikace.

Abstract:

The topic of my Master's thesis is the Author's Book, where I have developed and created the Quin font. I have described the process of designing the author's font from its digitalisation through to its subsequent application. In doing so, I have demonstrated the versatility of the Quin font in an edition of three typographic books. My goal was not only to create a functional typeface, but also to highlight the importance of a good presentation. In my thesis I have presented the extent of my knowledge and skills in graphic design and typography that I have acquired during my studies at the Faculty of Design and Art of Ladislav Sutnar at the University of West Bohemia in the Graphic Design and Visual Communication programme.
