Comparation of Czechoslovak Political Elites before and after November 1989

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá srovnáním československých politických elit v předlistopadovém a polistopadovém období roku 1989. Nejprve představuje pojem elity, teoretický rámec a základní přístupy k jejich výzkumu, především v českém prostředí. Dále přibližuje proces transformace společnosti, včetně formování nových politických elit a analyzuje jejich roli v tomto transformačním procesu. Srovnává elity z hlediska sociodemografického, poté věnuje pozornost jejich politickým názorům a předchozím zkušenostem v oblasti politiky. Práci doplňuje nezbytné dokreslení historických události v přelomovém roce 1989 a letech následujících.

Abstract:

This thesis compares the Czechoslovak political elites in pre-November and the post-communist period 1989. Firstly focuses the concept of elites, the theoretical framework and the basic approaches to research, particularly in the Czech environment. Furthermore, it studies the transformation process of society, including the formation of new political elites and analyses their role in this process. It compares the elites in terms of socio-demographics, then pays attention to their political views and previous experience in politics. The work is supplemented with description of the historical events at brink of 1989 and subsenquent years.
