Cytomorphology of B-cell lymphomas, possible diagnostics of the fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNA)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá lymfomy z B-buněk a jejich cytomorfologickou diagnostikou z tenkojehlové aspirační biopsie. Cílem práce bylo analyzovat možnosti cytomorfologické diagnostiky z FNA biopsie lymfatických uzlin, které jsou k exstirpaci jinak těžko dostupné. Obecná část zahrnuje výčet jednotlivých typů lymfomů z B-buněk a prekurzorových lymfoidních buněk a jejich klinické, morfologické, imunofenotypové a genetické charakteristiky. V části speciální jsou porovnávány morfologické nálezy z histologických řezů uzlin s nálezy cytologických otisků příslušných lymfomů. Bylo zjištěna korelace těchto nálezů, a FNA biopsie je tedy možností pro cytomorfologickou diagnostiku lymfomů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with B-cell lymphomas and their cytomorphological diagnostics from the fine-needle aspiration biopsy. The thesis is aimed to analyze possibilities of the cytomorphological diagnostics from the FNA biopsy of the lymph nodes otherwise inaccesible for resection. The theoretical part of the thesis comprises clinical, morphological, immunophenotypic and genetic features of B-cell neoplasms and precursor lymphoid neoplasms. In the practical part, morphologic findings from histological sections of lymph nodes and cytological imprints are compared. It was concluded that these findings correlate, and thus FNA biopsy is a possible diagnostic tool in lymphoma diagnostics.
