Uroinfections in pacients with spinal cord lesions

Abstract:

Diplomová práce prezentuje informace o míšních lézích a uroinfektech. Empirická část formou retrospektivní analýzy zdravotnické dokumentace vyhodnocuje rizikové faktory pro vznik urologických infekcí u pacientů s míšní lézí. Cílem práce bylo definovat faktory demografické, primárního spinálního poškození, související s bilancí tekutin a s derivací moče ovlivňující výskyt uroinfektu u pacientů s míšní lézí. Sběr dat probíhal na spinální jednotce FN Brno za předem stanovené období 23 měsíců. Bylo zjištěno, že množství vylučované moče a přijímaných tekutin, typ vyprazdňování, stav močového měchýře, poruchy mikce, invazivní způsob mikce a počet změn ve způsobu vyprazdňování moče jsou významnými faktory pro výskyt uroinfektů u pacientů s míšní lézí. Na základě výsledků provedeného šetření byly koncipovány preventivní opatření vzniku uroinfektu u pacientů s míšní lézí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the spinal cord lesions and urological infections. The empirical section assesses the risk factors associated with the onset of urological infections in individuals with spinal cord lesions, conducted through a retrospective analysis of medical documentation. The objective of the study was to define demographic factors and primary spinal injuries, along with factors related to fluid balance and urinary diversion, influencing the occurence of urological infections in spinal cord injury patients. Data collection was conducted at the Spinal Unit of FN Brno over a predetermined period spanning 23 months. It was found that the amount of urine excreted and fluids received, the type of voiding, state of the bladder, micturition disorders, invasive method of micturition, and the number of changes in the method of voiding urine are significant influencing factors for the occurrence of uroinfections in patients with spinal cord lesions. Based on the results of the investigation, preventive measures for the occurrence of uroinfection in patients with spinal cord lesions were conceived.
