Comparison of the level and structure of physical activity of adolescents before and after pandemic restrictions at Grammer school and High vocational school in Rokycany

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá komparací úrovně a struktury pohybové aktivity adolescentů před a po pandemických omezeních na Gymnáziu a Střední odborné škole v Rokycanech. Dotazníkového šetření a týdenního monitorování počtu kroků se celkem zúčastnilo 111 žáků před pandemickými omezeními (první měření) a 71 žáků po pandemických opatřeních (druhé měření), tj. celkem 182 probandů. V rámci výzkumu byl využit mezinárodní dotazník pro pohybovou aktivitu IPAQ a sportovní náramek Garmin pro zaznamenávání kroků. Přestože bylo zjištěno, že existují rozdíly v úrovni a struktuře pohybové aktivity před a po pandemii, tak rozdíly nejsou statisticky významné. Dále bylo zjištěno, že existují rozdíly před a po pandemii v počtu zaznamenaných kroků a v plnění doporučení ujít denně alespoň 11 000 kroků. V rámci některých skupin jsou tyto rozdíly statisticky významné.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses the comparison of the level and structure of physical activity among adolescents before and after pandemic restrictions at the Grammar school and Vocational School in Rokycany. The research included a questionnaire survey and a week-long monitoring of step counts, with a total of 111 students participating before the pandemic restrictions (first measurement) and 71 students after the pandemic restrictions (second measurement), comprising a total of 182 subjects. The study utilized the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and a Garmin fitness tracker for step recording. Although differences in the level and structure of physical activity before and after the pandemic were observed, these differences were not statistically significant. Additionally, variations were noted in the number of recorded steps and in meeting the recommendation to walk at least 11,000 steps daily before and after the pandemic. Within certain groups, these differences are statistically significant.
