Use of PR tools in the framework of effective communication with parents of students programming in Minecraft

Abstract:

Využívání her ke vzdělávání je poměrně novou vzdělávací metodou, která se pomalu začíná využívat na školách, ale ne vždy je pochopena z řad rodičů, protože o ní nemají dostatek informací. Ze studií vyplývá, že o tuto formu výuky je ve světě zájem zejména mezi učiteli a žáky, nicméně rodiče této metodě výuky stále nevěří. Cílem práce je navrhnutí účinné PR komunikace s rodiči žáků kroužku programování v Minecraftu za účelem zvýšit zájem rodičů o tyto kroužky, prostřednictvím zjištění mínění rodičů o hře a jejím prospěchu. Byla získávána primární, kvantitativní data pomocí online dotazníkového šetření rozeslaného rodičům, kteří již své dítě přihlásili na kroužek v uplynulých letech a kroužek je oslovil, a zároveň rodičům, kteří své děti z kroužku odhlásili, protože metodě nedůvěřují. Následně byly vyhodnocovány jednotlivé faktory a vztahy ovlivňující toto mínění rodičů o kroužku pomocí vhodných statistických testů. Přidanou hodnotou je pak vznik nové formy obsahu komunikace s rodiči, která bude postavena na osobitějším přístupu a bude vycházet ze zkušeností a situací, které v předešlých letech nastaly, což by mělo vést ke zlepšení celkové komunikace s rodiči. Výsledky průzkumu ukázaly, že největším důvodem odhlašování je současná covid-19 situace a následně cena kroužku. Bylo také prokázáno, že vzdělání rodičů má vliv na odhlášení dítěte z kroužku. Výsledky práce mohou posloužit firmě také jako nástroj pro budoucí lepší oslovování více zákazníků pro kroužek programování v Minecraftu.

Abstract:

The use of games for education is a relatively new educational method, which is slowly beginning to be used in schools, but is not always understood by parents because they do not have enough information about it. Studies show that there is interest in this form of teaching in the world, especially among teachers and students, but parents still do not believe in this method of teaching. The aim of this work is to design effective PR communication with parents of students of the programming courses in Minecraft in order to increase parents interest in these courses, by finding out the parents opinion about the game and its benefits. Primary, quantitative data were obtained through an online questionnaire survey sent to parents who have already enrolled their child in the course in recent years and the course appealed them, as well as to parents who have unregistered their children because they do not trust the method. Subsequently, individual factors and relationships influencing this opinion of parents about the course were evaluated by using appropriate statistical tests. The added value is the emergence of a new form of content of communication with parents, which will be based on a more specific approach and will be based on experiences and situations that have occurred in previous years, which should lead to improved overall communication with parents. The results of the survey showed that the biggest reason for children to unsubscribe from the course is the current covid-19 situation and subsequently the price of the course. It has also been shown that parental education influences a child's removal from the course. The results of the work can also serve the company as a tool for better future addressing of more customers for the Minecraft programming course.
