Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza ukazatelů homosexuality v divadelních hrách britských autorů, jež byly produkovány ve West Endu v 20. a 30. letech 20.století. Teoretická část práce se kromě legálního omezování homosexuality a jejího divadelního ztvárnění zabývá i zrozením „homosexuála“ jako divadelní postavy a různými způsoby, jakými autoři naznačovali sexualitu oné postavy. Abstract:
The thesis aims to analyse the signifiers of homosexuality in plays by British authors featuring gay male characters produced in the West End during the 1920s and 1930s. Apart from dealing with legal restrictions of homosexuality and its representation in theatre, the theoretical part describes the birth of ‘the homosexual’ in theatrical form, and the ways the authors indicated the character´s gayness …more
