Multidisciplinary rehabilitation program for Dupuytren's disease in a patient with trigger finger: case report

Abstract:

We will talk about Dupuytren's disease and stenosing tenosynovitis, which affect the tendon structures of the hand, significantly compromising the functionality of the hand; these two pathologies will be treated initially in the acute phase in preparation for surgery through pharmacological therapy, massage therapy techniques, physical therapy and stretching, subsequently the post-surgical rehabilitation therapy will be described up to conservative rehabilitation. Within this paper, a clinical case of a 72-year-old patient suffering from Dupuytren's disease with stenosing tenosynovitis, or more commonly known as trigger finger, will be described. These pathologies will be treated surgically and subsequently conservatively until the patient is able to perform all the actions that were part of her daily life; such as making homemade pasta. The goal of the thesis will be to describe in detail all the various stages that affect these pathologies and their evolution thanks to the therapies.

Abstract:

Si parler? del morbo di Dupuytren e della tenosinovite stenosante, le quali vanno ad interessare le strutture tendinee e connettivali della mano (l'aponeurosi palmare per quanto riguarda il Dupuytren e le pulegge per la tenosinovite stenosante). compromettendo in maniera significativa le funzionalit? della mano; queste due patologie saranno trattate inizialmente in fase acuta in preparazione all'intervento chirurgico attraverso una terapia farmacologica, tecniche di massoterapia, terapia fisica e stretching successivamente si andr? a descrivere la terapia riabilitativa post chirurgica fino ad arrivare alla riabilitazione conservativa la quale sar? fondamentale per riuscire a mantenere nel tempo i risultati ottenuti grazie alla fisioterapia, andando a diminuire i rischi di recidive. All'interno di questo elaborato sar? descritto un caso clinico di una paziente di 72 anni affetta da morbo di Dupuytren con tenosinovite stenosante, o pi? comunemente conosciuto come dito a scatto. Queste patologie saranno trattate chirurgicamente e successivamente attraverso un intervento fisioterapico fino a che la paziente non sar? in grado di compiere tutte le azioni che rientravano nella sua vita quotidiana; come, ad esempio, fare la pasta fatta in casa. L'obiettivo della tesi sar? quello di andare a descrivere nel dettaglio tutti i vari stadi che vanno ad interessare queste patologie ed il loro evolversi grazie alle varie terapie.
