Meaningfulness of life and emotion

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se snaží zasadit problematiku životní smysluplnosti do kontextu lidské emocionality. První část práce je zaměřena na historické i moderní teoretické systémy zabývající se emocemi. Dotýká se také otázky životního smyslu v pojetí V.E. Frankla a jeho následovníků a snaží se tematiku emocionality a životní smysluplnosti propojit. Praktická část práce popisuje kvantitativní výzkum provedený pomocí dotazníkové metody na studentech vybraných vysokých škol. Uvedený výzkum se zabývá vzájemnou souvislostí životní smysluplnosti a lidské emocionality. K ověření hypotéz bylo provedeno vyhodnocení získaných dat pomocí popisné statistiky. V této práci byla potvrzena vzájemná souvislost pozitivních i negativních emocí s vnímanou existenciální frustrací

Abstract:

The following thesis focuses on putting the problematics of meaningfulness of life into context of human emotionality. The first part of the thesis deals with historical as well as modern theoretical systems of emotions. It also discusses the questions of the meaning of life according to V. E. Frankl and his followers. Furthermore, it also aims at connecting the topic of emotionality with life meaningfulness. The practical part of the thesis is based on a quantitative approach, in the form of questionnaires distributed among university students. The analyses focus on the connection between meaningfulness and human emotionality. To prove the stated hypothesis in the thesis the methods of descriptive statistics were used. The research in this thesis suggests that both positive and negative emotions are closely associated with perceived existential frustration
