Gender issues in psychological context

Abstract:

Téma genderu představuje v dnešní době velmi aktuální a neméně diskutovaný pro-blém. Tato bakalářská práce pohlíží se na tuto problematiku poněkud komplexněji. Cílem práce je poodkrytí některých genderových rozdílů mezi páry různých generací. Teoretická část má snahu objasnit vznik odlišností mezi muži a ženami z hlediska biologie – především pak z pohledu genetiky a neurohumorální regulace, dále pak objasňuje i některé psychosociální aspekty genderových rozdílů. V této kapitole je také vysvětlen pojem genderové role a stereotypy, z jejichž definic částečně vychází hypotézy v empirické části. Další kapitola se zabývá historií rolí žen a mužů, především je pak zaměřena na his-torii feminismu, který má nesporný vliv na celý obor gender problematiky. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je zaměřena na vývojovou psychologii a charakte-ristiku jednotlivých období, ve kterých se momentálně nachází mnou zkoumaní responden-ti. Praktická část bakalářské práce zahrnuje cíl a oblast výzkumu, prostředky potřebné k provedení výzkumu, stanovení výzkumných otázek a následné rozebrání výsledků jednot-livých respondentů.

Abstract:

Gender issues are a timely and well recognised research area. This dissertation, has taken a more complex view of the topic, whereby the author attempts to reveal gender-related differences between couples that represent a range of various generations. The literature review commences with a review of the differences between male and female in a biological context, parcitularly focusing at genetic and neurohormonal regulati-on. Furthermore, psycho-social aspects of gender differences are discussed. The issues of gender roles and stereotypes are defined, and the definitions then used to form a series of hypotheses to be tested in the practical part of the research. The following chapter reviews the status of men and women throughout the history; followed by a discussion on the history of feminism, which has undoubtedly directly in-fluenced the development of gender studies. The last chapter of the literature review focuses on developmental psychology and characterises the various stages of development, represented by each of the selected study respondents. The autor then presents her research methodology, formulates hypotheses to be stu-died and finally analyses the results of data originating from in-depth interviews with study participants.
