A Comparative Analysis of Punctuation Marks in English and Czech Instructions for Use
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá interpunkčními znaménky v návodech k používání. Klade si za cíl porovnat výskyt středníků, otazníků, vykřičníků, dvojteček a uvozovek v anglických a českých verzích těchto publikací. A poukazuje na vliv angličtiny na nedodržování pravidel českého pravopisu.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the punctuation marks in the instructions for use. It aims at comparing and contrasting the instances of the semicolon, question mark, exclamation mark, colon and quotation marks usage in the English versions of these publications and in their Czech counterparts. It shows the influence of English on the violation of orthographical rules in Czech.
