MicroRNA jsou krátké nekódující molekuly, jejichž hlavní funkcí je regulace genové exprese. Prostřednictvím komplementární části sekvence s různými mRNA blokují jejich translaci. Velká část cílových molekul jsou transkripčními faktory, a tím se microRNA stává významným regulátorem buněčných dějů. Abstract:
MicroRNAs are short non-coding molecules, whose main function is regulation of gene expression. Due to complementary sequence with different mRNA, it blocks their translation. Most of the target mRNAs are transcription factors and therefore microRNAs are significant regulators of many cellular processes.
