Healtcare associated urinary tract infections

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí močových cest, které jsou považovány za nejčastěji vyskytující se infekce spojené se zdravotní péčí. Přítomnost infekce u pacienta zvyšuje náklady na hospitalizaci, léčbu a riziko úmrtí. Teoretická část se věnuje obecné problematice infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí, dále konkrétně problematice infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí močových cest, rizikovým faktorům a původcům. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnována prevenci infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí močových cest, kde je zařazen postup katetrizace a hygiena rukou. Cílem praktické části bylo zanalyzovat data získané ze surveillance výskytu infekcí na neurochirurgické klinice Fakultní nemocnice Ostrava v letech 2019-2021 u pacientů se zavedeným močovým katetrem a zanalyzovat druhy patogenů, které způsobují infekce spojené se zdravotní péčí nebo infekce se kterými je pacient již hospitalizován. Data byla následně zpracována ve formě grafů. Provedenou analýzou dat jsme zjistili, že infekce, se kterými pacient přichází již do nemocnice, postihují častěji ženy. Oproti tomu infekce spojené se zdravotní péčí se vyskytovaly častěji u mužů. Obecně byl výskyt infekcí, se kterými je pacient již hospitalizován vyšší než výskyt infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí. Nejčastějším patogenem způsobující infekce, se kterými je pacient již hospitalizován byla Escherichia coli. U infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí se vyskytovaly nejčastěji rezistentní kmeny Klebsielly pneumonie.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the issue of healthcare-associated infections of the urinary tract, which are considered to be the most frequently occurring healthcare-associated infections. The presence of infection in a patient increases the cost of hospitalization, treatment and the risk of death. The theoretical part is devoted to the general issue of healthcare-associated infections, and more specifically to the issue of healthcare-associated infections of the urinary tract, risk factors and causative agents. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to the prevention of infections associated with urinary tract health care, where the catheterization procedure and hand hygiene are included. The aim of the practical part was to analyze data obtained from the surveillance of the occurrence of infections at the neurosurgery clinic of the Ostrava University Hospital in the years 2019-2021 in patients with an inserted urinary catheter and to analyze the types of pathogens that cause healthcare-associated infections or infections which the patient is already hospitalized with. The data was subsequently processed in the form of graphs. By analyzing the data, we found that the infections with which the patient already comes to the hospital affect women more often. In contrast, healthcare-associated infections were more common in men. In general, the incidence of infections which the patient is already hospitalized with was higher than the incidence of healthcare-associated infections. The most common pathogen causing infections with which the patient is already hospitalized was Escherichia coli. In healthcare-associated infections, the most common resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae occurred.
