The overlap of comics into other media

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se skládá ze tří hlavních částí. V první části se věnuje stručné charakteristice a dějinám média komiksu. Následně pak prezentuje základní prvky a znaky tohoto média a snaží se tak komiks postihnout v co možná nejkomplexnější podobě. Další část se zabývá samotnými přesahy komiksu do jiných médií. Tyto přesahy se dělí na formální, strukturní a tematické. Tato kapitola přináší široké spektrum přesahů, ve kterých se komiks promítnul do ostatních uměleckých médií, jak v současném umění, tak v umění dvacátého století. Poslední část popisuje moji praktickou diplomovou práci, kde se věnuji simulaci výlepové plochy, která formou deníkové formy komentuje okolní svět.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis consists of three main parts. In the first part it concisely deals with the definition and history of comics. As a continuation it presents the basic elements and signitures of this media and it therefore portrayes comics in a very complex way. Next part deals with the overlaps of comics into other kinds of media. These overlaps can be divided into formal, structural and thematical. This chapter brings a whole range of overlaps, in which comics is being projected into other artistic media in contemporary art and twentieth century art. The last part describes my practical diploma thesis, where I pursue the simulation of the billboards, which in a form of a diary comments the world around us.
