Guttural R and rolled R in teaching Norwegian as a foreign language

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the phoneme /r/ in Norwegian. There er two variants of how to pronounce the phoneme /r/ in the Norwegian language. The first variant is called rulle-r, which is similar to, for example, the Czech /r/. The second variant is called skarre-r, which we know for example from French, where this /r/ originated. The aim of the thesis is to find out which /r/ are pronounced by students of Norwegian as a foreign language who study at selected European universities and what factors influence these student’s pronunciation.

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se věnuje fonému /r/ v norštině. V norském jazyce totiž existují dvě varianty jak foném /r/ vyslovit. První varianta se nazývá rulle-r, která je podobná například českému /r/. Druhá varianta se nazývá skarre-r, kterou můžeme znát například z francouzštiny, kde toto /r/ vzniklo. Cílem práce je zjistit jaké /r/ vyslovují studenti norštiny jako cizího jazyka, kteří studují na vybraných evropských univerzitách a jaké faktory tyto studenty ve výslovnosti ovlivňují.
