The war in the works of Heinrich Boell and Guenter Grass

Abstract:

In my final work I am concerned with the analysis of the works of two german authors. Heinrich Boll and Gunter Grass. I pay attention to three books with war problems of each auther, to Boll books like "Der Zug war punktlich", "Das Vermachtnis" and "Wo warst du, Adam?" and to Grass books "Die Blechtrommel", "Katz und Maus" and "Im Krebsgang". I don´t only analyse the content of the books, but also theit interpretation, lexical means, externalization of protagonists etc. At the same time I present the attitudes of both authors to war. The works of both authors are compared at the close.

Abstract:

V mé diplomové práci se zabývám rozborem děl dvou německých autorů, Heinricha Boella a Guentera Grasse. U každého autora věnuji pozornost třem jeho dílům s válečnou problematikou. U Boella pak jeho povídkám "Der Zug war puenktlich", "Das Vermaechtnis" a románu "Wo warst du, Adam?". U Grasse pak románu "Die Blechtrommel" a dvěma jeho dalším knihám "Katz und Maus" a "Im Krebsgang". U těchto knih se nezaměřuji pouze na jejich obsah, ale i na jejich výklad, jazykové prostředky, ztvárnění hlavních postav apod. Současně prezentuji i názory obou autorů na válku. Díla obou autorů pak v závěru srovnávám.
