Green Aluminum: Green Supply Chain in Automotive Industry

Anotácia:

Thesis explores sustainability topic about implementation of the green aluminum into the alloy wheel for the carmaker ŠKODA AUTO a.s. First part of the thesis conducts literature review on the supply chain and the green supply chain, describes the deviations between them and their common characteristics. Second part of the thesis analyses green aluminum, how it is produced, the locations of production and shows the differences in energy sources and carbon emissions from respective production locations. It defines two main types of green aluminum and discuss their suitability for the use in automotive segment. Third segment of the thesis evaluates conducted request for quotation, where suppliers of aluminum wheels are inquired for the standard primary aluminum and the low-emissions aluminum. It interprets the positive results of the implementation of green aluminum wheels with the respect on financial and environmental impacts for carmaker.
