Administration of the Town and Manor of Vlasim in 1620 - 1720

Abstract:

Snahou práce je nastínit správu města a panství Vlašim v době pobělohorské, období zhruba 100 let, vymezené daty 1620 – 1720. Práce pojednává o organizačním a administrativním zajištění chodu města, o postavení jednotlivých úředníků, o jejich vzájemných vazbách, o způsobech a formách jejich komunikace, o způsobu života lidí ve městě, jaké výsady a povinnosti mívali, o živnostech, o řemeslech. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. Úvodní část zachycuje charakteristické rysy vývoje správy v českých zemích v průběhu 17. a 18. století, druhy jednotlivých správ. Druhá část se věnuje správě města a panství Vlašim v době pobělohorské. Práce přibližuje historický vývoj města Vlašim, počátky osídlení města, představuje šlechtické rody na vlašimském panství. V jednotlivých oddílech je pojednáno o vrchnostenské správě města, o městských privilegiích. Jsou nastíněny rodinné poměry majitelů panství v souvislosti s poměry v obci a jejími záležitostmi, život vrchnosti a poddaných na panském dvoře, jak takový zámek a panský dvůr tehdy vypadal, co k němu náleželo, jaké měl zaměstnance.

Abstract:

This present thesis aims to outline the history of administration of the town and manor of Vlasim in the post-White Mountain period, i.e. in the time span of 100 years between 1620 and 1720. The thesis examines the organizational and administrative processes in the town, the positions and roles of municipal clerks, ties and relations between them, methods of their communication, the lifestyle of the town's population, their privileges and obligations, and their trades and crafts. The paper is divided into two parts. The introductory part sketches the characteristic features of the development of municipal administration in the Czech Lands during the 17th and 18th centuries, including their types. The second part focuses on the administration of the town and manor of Vlasim in the post-White Mountain period. The paper describes the historical development of the town, the beginnings of the town's settlement, and introduces the noble families that reigned the Vlasim manor. The individual chapters then discuss the manorial administration of the town, municipal privileges, family situation of the manor's owners in contrast with the situation in the town and its affairs, the life of the manorial lords and serfs at the manor's court, description of the chateau and the manorial court, its composition and organisation, and its staff.
