Astovriry jsou malé neobalené viry s genomem tvořeným pozitivní jednovláknovou RNA. Do čeledi Astroviridae jsou řazeny dva rody – rod Mamastrovirus a rod Avastrovirus. Jejich zástupci infikují savce, u kterých mohou způsobovat průjmy, a ptáky, kde mimo průjmů způsobují i závažná mimostřevní onemocnění. Abstract:
Astroviruses are small, non-enveloped, single-stranded positive sense RNA viruses. The family Astroviridae consists of two genera, Avastrovirus and Mamastrovirus. Astroviruses are associated with enteric disease symptoms such as diarrhoea in mammalian hosts and diarrhoea and extraintestinal illnesses such as nephritis and hepatitis in avian hosts.
