Development and changes of attitudes of women to a close person during a specific period of time

Abstract:

Otázce vztahu sociálních postojů a chování bylo věnováno mnoho úsilí, avšak dosud není známa jednoznačná odpověď. Vědění není zdaleka úplné ani v otázce ovlivnění ženské psychiky menstruačním cyklem. Tyto dvě oblasti propojuje tato longitudinální explorativní studie. Sleduje případný vývoj a změny postojů žen k blízké osobě během fází menstruačního cyklu. Bylo nutné vzít v úvahu PMS, PMDD a hormonální antikoncepci jako intervenující proměnné. Studie byla realizována formou dotazníkového šetření v průběhu 3měsíců. Byla sesbírána data od 106 respondentek, avšak analyzována byla pouze data 32 respondentek, které studii dokončily a měly pravidelný menstruační cyklus. Nebyly zjištěny signifikantní rozdíly v intenzitě a obsahu složek postojů napříč jednotlivými fázemi menstruačního cyklu. Otázka vztahu menstruačního cyklu a postojů tak zůstává nezodpovězena a skýtá příležitost pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

Researchers have spent a lot of time discovering relationship between social attitudes and behaviour, but they still don’t have the answer. There isn’t enough information about effects of menstrual cycle on women’s mental state too. This longitudinal explorative study connects these two areas of research. It focuses on possible development and changes of attitude to close person during menstrual cycle. It was necessary to include PMS, PMDD and hormonal contraceptive as possible intervening variables. The main method was 3-months-survey. Data from 106 women were collected, but only 32 from them finished the survey had regular menstrual cycle. There were discovered no significant differences in development in intensity and content of attitudes depending on particular phases of menstrual cycle. The problem of relationship of menstrual cycle and attitudes isn’t answered and provides opportunity for another research.
