Výchozím textem pro rozbor a uvedené interpretace byla Keatsova stejnojmenná báseň. Jakožto alternativa příběhu La Belle Dame je v práci rozebrána Rusalka od Friedricha de la Motte Fouqué. Abstract:
Bachelor’s thesis “Unearthly and Unattainable: La Belle Dame sans Merci” ruminates the character of La Belle Dame sans Merci and the variations of her narrative. The inceptive text for analysis and given interpretations was Keats’s poem of the same name.
