Risks and complications of laser refractive surgery

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématikou potenciálních rizik refrakční laserové chirurgie a jejich následnými komplikacemi. V úvodu práce je popsána historie refrakčních zákroků, následuje přehled anatomie a fyziologie rohovky. Dále je v práci popsán průběh jednotlivých metod laserových refrakčních zákroků. V této části je uvedena samostatná kapitola zabývající se předoperačním vyšetřením, další pojednává o limitech a možných rizicích operací a jedna samostatná kapitola popisuje samotné zákroky a pooperační péči. Poslední část je věnována podrobnému popisu možných pooperačních komplikací u jednotlivých typů zákroků.

Abstract:

This work deals with the topic of potential risks and complications of laser refractive surgery. In the first chapters, a history of refractive surgery is described followed by the summary of anatomy and physiology of the cornea. The next part informs about the process of the methods of laser refractive surgery. There is the separated chapter describing the pre-operative examination, the next one summarizes limits and potential risks of the surgery and another one reports on the process of all the methods and the post-operative care. The goal of the last part of this thesis is the description of all of the potential complications by every type of the refractive surgery in detail.
