Communication with clients with Alzheimer´s disease

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vzájemnou komunikaci mezi (sociálním) pracovníkem a klientem s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Komunikace s touto cílovou skupinou v sociální práci je náročná a čím více nemoc postupuje stává se obtížnější. Práce má teoretický charakter a nabízí ucelený přehled, jak s těmito klienty komunikovat. Nejprve se věnuje vymezení klientů s Alzheimerovou chorobu. Dále je popsána komunikace - obecně a později s klienty s Alzheimerovou chorobou - její proměny, zásady a specifika. Následující kapitola je věnována reminiscenční terapii, která je významnou aktivizační činností v zařízeních pro klienty s touto demencí. Poslední kapitola se věnuje možnostem péče o tyto klienty. V závěru práce je uvedeno shrnutí poznatků práce a naplnění cíle, kterým je popsat specifika komunikace s klientem s Alzheimerovou chorobou.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis focuses on mutual communication between a (social) worker and a client with Alzheimer´s disease. Communication with this target group in social work is demanding and as disease progressig it´s more difficult. Thesis has theoretical character and offers knowledge, how to communicate with these clients. Firstly it devotes to definition of clients with Alzheimer´s disease. Furhter is described communication - in general meaning and then with clients with Alzheimer´s disease its changes, principles and specifics. Next chapter is about reminiscence therapy, which is an important activation in facilities for clients with this dementia. The last chapter is about care options for clients. In the end of thesis is introduced a summary of thesis´s knowledge and fulfilment of goal, which is describe specifics of communication with clients with Alzheimer´s disease.
