Sustainability of Last-Mile Delivery and Its Influence on Consumer Decision-Making

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vyhodnotit vliv informování o udržitelnosti způsobů last-mile delivery a postoje k ekologickému nakupování na volbu způsobu dopravy zakoupeného zboží spotřebitelem. Na základě literární rešerše byl sestaven konceptuální model vyjadřující předpokládané vztahy mezi zkoumanými konstrukty, které byly následně ověřeny kvantitativním přístupem za využití experimentálního designu. Pomocí binární logistické regrese bylo zjištěno, že informování o udržitelnosti last-mile delivery, cena last-mile delivery i postoj k ekologickému nakupování jsou významnými determinanty volby způsobu dopravy spotřebitelem. Výzkum přináší nová zjištění, která rozšiřují současný stav poznání o problematice udržitelnosti last-mile delivery a nabízí základ pro integraci s marketingovými strategiemi, což může mít skutečný pozitivní dopad na udržitelnost logistiky v B2C e-commerce.

Abstract:

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to evaluate the impact of sustainability information and green purchase attitudes on consumers' choice of last-mile delivery options. Based on a literature review, a conceptual model was developed to express the hypothesized relationships between the studied constructs. These relationships were then verified using a quantitative approach with an experimental design. Binary logistic regression revealed that sustainability information, last-mile delivery price, and green purchase attitudes are significant determinants of consumers' choice of last-mile delivery options. The research provides new insights that expand the current understanding of the issue of last-mile delivery sustainability and offers a foundation for integration with marketing strategies, which can have a real positive impact on the sustainability of logistics in B2C e-commerce.
