The phenomenon of criminal documentary series in relation to visual arts

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se v teoretické části zaměřuje na fenomén seriálů, jeho vznik, typologii a zaobírá se rozšířením kriminální tématiky v oblasti kinematografie. Věnuje se temnějším a krvavějším motivům ve výtvarném umění a opírá se o uměleckou činnost Andyho Warhola, jeho kinematografickou tvorbu a práce zaměřující se na smrt. Naráží na téma kontroverze a vysvětluje důvody pro lidskou fascinaci nejen kriminální tématikou. Práce obsahuje i praktickou složku, ta je tvořena z portrétů obětí medializovaného vraha, vytváří jejich vizuální stopu ponechanou v technice černobílého linorytu. Za cíl si práce klade objasnění současného rozšíření kriminální tématiky, fascinaci zločiny a jejich medializaci, nabízí pohled na temnou stránku umění, na motiv smrti a vytváří připomínku na téměř zapomenuté obětí.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the phenomenon of series, its origin, typology and deals with the spread of crime themes in the field of cinema. It focuses on darker and bloodier motifs in the visual arts and draws on the artistic work of Andy Warhol, his cinematographic work and works focusing on death. It alludes to the theme of controversy and explains the reasons for the human fascination with crime themes. The work also contains a practical component, this is made up of portraits of the victims of a publicised murderer, creating a visual trace of them left in the technique of black and white linocut. The work aims to elucidate the contemporary prevalence of criminal themes, the fascination with crimes and their media coverage, offering a glimpse of the dark side of art, the motif of death, and creating a reminder of the almost forgotten victims.
