Tématem této diplomové práce je společenská reforma ve dvou dílech britského spisovatele Aldouse Huxleyho, Brave New World a Island. Téma je analyzováno prostřednictvím biografického přístupu, diplomová práce poskytuje jiný pohled na tato dvě díla, pohled vzhledem k historickému a biografickému kontextu.
