Golden ratio in the art of Midjourney AI generator

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem zlatého řezu a umění umělé inteligence. Cílem práce je determinovat procentuální výskyt zlatého řezu v obrazech generovaných pomocí nástroje Midjourney. Metodikou je především analýza dokumentů a měření. Evaluace výskytu byla konzultována se spisovatelem a výzkumníkem Garym B. Meisnerem. Struktura práce je rozdělena do šesti kapitol. Teoretické kapitoly přináší matematické vyjádření zlatého řezu a přiblížení fenoménu generátorů obrazů pomocí umělé inteligence. Praktická část popisuje použité způsoby měření, evaluaci výskytu zlatého řezu a výsledky. Celkově práce zkoumá 120 obrazů a k měření výskytu zlatého řezu slouží software PhiMatrix. Diskuze rozebírá znaky opakující se ve vygenerovaných obrazech a jejich souvislost se zlatým řezem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the golden ratio and the artificial intelligence art. The aim of the thesis is to determine the percentage occurrence of the golden ratio in images generated using the tool Midjourney. The methodology primarily consists of document analysis and measurement. The evaluation of the occurrence was consulted with the writer and researcher Gary B. Meisner. The structure of the thesis is divided into six chapters. The theoretical chapters provide a mathematical expression of the golden ratio and contextualize the phenomenon of artificial intelligence image generators. The practical part describes the measurement methods used, the evaluation of the occurrence of the golden ratio, and the results. Overall, the thesis examines 120 images, and the PhiMatrix software is used to measure the occurrence of the golden ratio. The discussion analyzes recurring features in the generated images and their connection to the golden ratio.
