Práce je věnována České správě sociálního zabezpečení (dále jen ČSSZ). Konkrétně jejímu historickému vývoji od 20. století do současnosti a její péči o dokumenty. První část popisuje obecně sociální zabezpečení a charakterizuje ČSSZ. Druhá část práce je detailněji zaměřena na vývoj ČSSZ.
