English and Scottish Popular Ballads: The Origin and Reflections in Other European Cultures
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem původu anglických a skotských lidových balad. Práce vychází zejména ze studií Francise James Childa a Francise Bartona Gummera a rozebírá jednotlivé přístupy ke studiu balad. Dále se také věnuje jejich komparací s lidovými literaturami ostatních evropských zemí.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis focuses on the study of English and Scottish popular ballads. The thesis works mainly with the studies of Francis James Child and Francis Barton Gummere and analyses the different approaches to the ballad studies. Furthermore, it discusses their comparison with the folk literatures of other European countries.
