Positive blood cultures in haemato-oncology patients

Abstract:

Postchemoterapeutická granulocytopenie je významným imunodeficitem, který zvyšuje riziko vzniku infekčních komplikací. I přes empirickou antibiotickou léčbu jsou nejčastější příčinou mortality bakteriální infekce. Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku a terapii febrilní neutropenie včetně zastoupení nejčastějších patogenních mikroorganismů v hemokulturách u hematoonkologických pacientů. Analýza dat praktické části ukazuje, že infekční komplikace můžou souviset s věkem pacienta, a že přes všechna opatření je vysoký výskyt polyrezistentních kmenů.

Abstract:

Post-chemotherapeutic granulocytopenia is a significant immunodeficiency that increases the risk of infectious complications. Despite the empiric antibiotic therapy, the most common cause of mortality is bacterial infections. The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue and therapy of febrile neutropenia including occurrence of the most common pathogenic microorganisms in blood cultures in haemato-oncology patients. Data analysis of the practical part shows that the infectious complications can be related to age of the patient. Despite all preventive precautions there is a high incidence of multiresistant flora.
