The effect of intestinal stoma on activities of daily living

Abstract:

Teoretická část zpracovává problematiku střevních stomií, indikace k jejich založení, zabývá se jejich ošetřováním a edukací pacienta. Seznamuje se životním stylem stomiků, jejich psychickou adaptací a přijímáním stomie. Mapuje pohybovou aktivitu, návrat stomika do pracovního procesu, spokojenost v rodinném, společenském a sexuálním životě. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký vliv měla a má stomie na běžný každodenní život stomika a zda měla dopad na jeho partnerský život. Praktickým výstupem práce je edukační materiál týkající se aktivního života stomika, doporučených a též nevhodných aktivit stomiků.

Abstract:

Annotation The theoretical part describes the issues of intestinal stoma, indications for their establishment, their care and patient education. It deals with the lifestyle of stoma patients, psychological adaptation and acceptance of the stoma. It charts physical activity, return of stoma patient to work process, satisfaction in family, social and sexual life. The aim of the research was to determine the effect which stoma had on the everyday life of the patient and whether it influenced his partner life. The practical outcome of this work is educational material relating to the active life of an ostomate, appropriate and inappropriate activities of stoma patients.
