International Comparison of Partner Selection Determinants: Attractiveness and Partner Selection Preferences In V4 Countries. Ideal vs Real Partner

Abstract:

Tato práce zmiňuje socializační a evoluční teorie, kdy se více zabývá evolučními teoriemi výběru partnera. Hlavním cílem je zjistit vzájemnou podobu v očekávání charakteristik ideálních dlouhodobých a krátkodobých partnerů v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky i mezi nimi navzájem. Zkoumanými charakteristikami jsou fyzická atraktivita, finanční zaopatřenost a povaha. Snaha odhalit sociodemografické faktory ovlivňující vnímání atraktivity ideálního partnera. Následně je provedeno porovnání ideálních partnerů s partnery skutečnými. Hlavními použitými metodami jsou regresní analýza, jednofaktorová ANOVA a post hoc dvouvýběrové t-testy. Výsledkem je představa vzájemné rozdílnosti zemí V4 při výběru partnera.

Abstract:

The thesis mentions social theories and evolution theories for partner selection with a higher focus on evolution theories. Main goal of the thesis is to find whether there is a similarity of characteristics desired in long-term and short-term partner among the members of Visegrad Group. Characteristics such as physical attractiveness, financial prospects and kindness are researched. There is also an aim to discover socio-demographic factors influencing people’s perception of physical attractiveness of ideal partner. There is also a comparison between ideal and real partners. For the analysis Regression Analysis and One-way ANOVA is used with post hoc t-tests. The results of this research bring an image of similarity/distinction in partner selection among the V4 countries.
